Summary: 

Metastasis is the main reason for high mortality rate of uveal melanoma patients. The reasons for their liver homing and molecular mechanisms regulating this process are only partially known. As tumor cell dormancy and liver metastatic niche regulation seem to be implicated in the metastatic uveal melanoma, there is an urgent need to understand these mechanisms better.
