Summary:
The reduction of intraocular pressure through the use of topical medication, laser treatments and surgery are considered the gold standard in glaucoma treatment. However, recently there has been growing interest among both patients and physicians regarding the influence of modifiable environmental factors on the development and progression of glaucomatous neuropathy. The aim of this study is to summarize the current reports on the impact of selected risk factors, such as: the use of stimulants, the type of physical activity, hormonal balance and factors that occur during work in the pathogenesis of glaucoma.
