Summary: Vision rehabilitation for patients suffering from neovascular age-related macular degeneration must be employed before severe visual loss sets in. There are various strategies for improving visual function. Low vision therapies include use of prescription glasses, low vision aids, modification of the patients’ environment. The aim of this study is to present the near vision electronical aids which are more and more often prescribed to the patients with age-related macular degeneration. Authors describe electronic enlargers and magnifiers, discuss about special computer software dedicated for low vision patients. They pay attention to appropriate lighting for people with sight loss.
