Summary:
The diagnosis of malignant intraocular tumor means that the patient’s life is at risk. The opacities of cornea, lens, or vitreous body hemorrhages often
mask the presence of an intraocular tumor. We should not operate the eye with a total cataract or in a situation where the possibility of assessing intraocular structures is significantly impeded, without prior imaging tests, primarily a generally available eye ultrasound. Intraocular surgeries, filtration surgeries, cyclodestruction and other invasive activities may facilitate the systemic spread of malignant intraocular neoplasm, and this, in absence of effective systemic treatment, leads to the death of the patient.
Keywords: intraocular surgeries, Intraocular neoplasms, risk of systemic dissemination.
Słowa kluczowe: operacje wewnątrzgałkowe, nowotwory wewnątrzgałkowe, ryzyko rozsiewu ogólnego.
