Summary:
Glaucoma is a group of neurodegenerative diseases that leads to changes in the optic nerve and corresponding defects in the visual field. Treatment usually starts with eye drops. In those patients in whom conservative and laser treatment are insufficient, surgical procedures are performed. Trabeculectomy is one of the most preferred anti-glaucoma surgeries. Postoperative scarring is the main reason for the poor functioning of the filtering bleb, which ultimately results in surgery failure.
