Summary: 

The neoplasms of the eye surface: benign and malignant tumors of the conjunctiva, often infiltrating cornea, tumors of the lacrimal gland and caruncle lacrimalis, and lesions mimicking neoplasms are presented. Potentially malignant tumors include intraepithelial neoplasms: carcinoma in situ (preinvasive squamous cel carcinoma) and primary acquired melanosis. Among malignant ones, the most common are: squamous cell carcinoma, conjunctival melanoma and lymphoma. The conjunctiva can also be infiltrated by other neoplasms, such as: basal cell carcinoma of the eyelids, sinus tumors and intraocular tumors. We present standards for the management of eye surface tumors.
