Summary: Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by a mutation in the FBN1 gene which results in incorrect structure of elastic fibers. This abnormality causes numerous symptoms in the whole body. Tissue of the cornea is rich in elastic fibers and flattened corneal curvature is one of the most frequent ocular symptoms. In this paper results of important research from different parts of the globe were presented and the diagnostic role of keratometry was evaluated. In case of 40–50% of Marfan patients average corneal radius (Kmed) was lower than 41.5 D and in case of 75% lower than 42.0 D. In healthy population we can observed significantly higher values, which are around 43.0 D. Keratometry as fast and easily obtained test is a good supporting diagnostic tool for Marfan syndrome.
