Summary: A 80-years old female patient referred to the ophthalmologist with central visual acuity (VA) reduction in right eye (RE) along with slight metamorphopsia. Basic examination revealed VA drop to 0.04 and BRVO with progressive impairment of anatomical and visual function of the macula. The pharmacologic anti-platelet and thrombolytic treatment was initiated. The FA and OCT tests showed rapid symptoms progression. Anti-VEGF treatment (ranibizumab) was introduced promptly, which resulted in VA improvement and retinal profile normalization. One month after the intravitreal ranibizumab injection GRID photocoagulation was performed due to the focal macular oedema (ME). After another 4 weeks the ME reocurred as a rebound eodema. At that moment dexamethasone implant (Ozurdex) intravitreal injection was performed. Vision improvement, haemorrhages reduction, macular region thickness normalization was noticed after 4 weeks. Until now, i.e. 5 months following OZURDEX injection macula is stable and VA has reached 0.4 lines.
